As we celebrate America's 250th, we want to recognize all veterans, current military and emergency and law enforcement persons. Military persons are encouraged to wear a cap that designates their branch of service.

Did You Know...
That 2026 marks 150 years since the 1 st settlement of the town of Lebanon, Kansas?
In 1876 about 3 ½ miles southwest of its current location, the city of Lebanon was founded featuring dugouts and sod houses including a Post Office.
The railroad was built through Smith County in 1887 and it missed a number of small towns, including Lebanon. So, the valiant inhabitants of Lebanon moved any buildings and personal belongings northeast to its current location. New Lebanon was already being surveyed and laid out by the side of the new Railroad tracks.
In a few years, the older town site was gone and returned to prairie and farmland. New Lebanon was taking shape as a thriving community due to connections with the Rock Island Railroad.
We are celebrating 150 years since Lebanon’s 1 st settlement during the Lebanon Bash on August 29, 2026. All are welcome to join in this celebration.
